Industrial-Strength Floor Coatings for Gresham Basements

A basement can be much more than storage or utility space. With the right floor coating, it becomes a clean, functional extension of your home. We bring our proprietary Garage FX® flooring system to Gresham homeowners, applying the same industrial-strength epoxy and polyaspartic floor coatings we use on residential and commercial concrete throughout the Portland area to basement floors that deserve better than bare concrete.

What the Garage FX® System Brings to Your Basement Floor

Basement concrete takes a beating over time: foot traffic, stored equipment, moisture exposure, and general wear leave it stained and rough. Our Garage FX® floor coatings bond directly to the concrete substrate and cure into a surface that’s stronger than the concrete itself. That’s not a figure of speech. The finished coating resists peeling, chipping, abrasions, chemicals, and UV rays, so the floor holds up whether the basement becomes a home gym, workshop, or finished living area.

Choosing a coating doesn’t mean settling for a generic look. We offer over 140 colors to choose from, so the finished floor reflects your preferences rather than a one-size-fits-all palette. All products are American-made and backed by a lifetime warranty. Most installations are completed in a single day, so disruption to your home stays minimal.

Locally Owned, Focused on Floors & Storage

GarageExperts of Portland is locally owned and operated, which means the team working in your basement is part of the same Multnomah County community you live in. We don’t treat flooring and storage solutions as a side offering within a broader home-services business. Designing and manufacturing quality basement flooring and storage solutions is what we do, and our brand has applied over 80 million square feet of epoxy and polyaspartic coating to floors in homes and businesses over more than a decade. That depth of experience shows in the consistency of each finished floor.

Why Gresham Basement Floors Benefit from a Quality Coating

Gresham sits in Multnomah County within the Willamette Valley, a region known for heavy seasonal rainfall and a high winter water table. Clay-heavy soils throughout the area retain moisture close to foundations, so basement concrete floors face ongoing exposure to moisture, staining, and surface wear. Left uncoated, that concrete absorbs the effects year after year.

A properly applied floor coating doesn’t address structural water intrusion, but it does give the concrete surface a durable barrier against the moisture, chemical contact, and wear that basement floors regularly encounter. For any Gresham homeowner planning to use the basement as functional living space, that can make a meaningful difference.

How the Coating Process Works

The Garage FX® system starts with a proprietary fusing epoxy primer that adheres to the concrete surface and creates a strong mechanical bond. A polyaspartic topcoat is then applied over the primer, delivering the hardness, chemical resistance, and finished appearance the system is known for. That two-layer approach is what separates it from surface-level treatments that chip or delaminate under real use.

The project workflow is straightforward:

Free on-site estimate: We assess the concrete condition and discuss your goals for the space
Custom proposal: A personalized scope and color selection based on the estimate
Installation: Typically completed in one day with minimal disruption
Ongoing support: Maintenance guidance so the floor stays in top condition

Complete the Space with Storage Solutions

A new floor coating is a natural starting point for finishing a basement, and organized storage solutions make the space fully functional. Our customizable cabinets and slatwall systems are American-made, with cabinet wood sourced from replenishable North American forests, and backed by a lifetime warranty. Whether you’re clearing out a cluttered basement or building out a dedicated workspace, pairing the floor coating with storage can turn an underused area into one of the most practical rooms in the house.
